We value your privacy

inqonto values the privacy of those who use our web site, products and services and makes all commercially reasonable efforts to protect it. Maintaining your privacy is one of our core principles. You entrust us with sensitive financial information. We take that responsibility seriously. By accepting the Privacy Policy in registration or by visiting and using the Site, you expressly consent to our collection, use and disclosure of your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and subject to our Terms of Service. Please read the following to learn more about what information we collect, what we do with that information, and how we may use your personal information.

You Own and Control Your Data

You retain ownership of all data you enter or upload into inqonto, and have ultimate control over who has access to it. You can export your data, as a csv file, whenever you like. You control that access via user accounts that only you can create, which allows you to give your accountant access, for example. It is your responsibility to safeguard the password information and only give it to people you trust.

How We Use Your Information

We have no access to user passwords or accounts, so we can't login to your inqonto site without your permission (you might choose to add a temporary user account to help us to resolve a question you have, for example). We monitor patterns of usage, such as login dates and volumes of data, so we can understand how people are using the system and to ensure our servers are up to the job. For this purpose, we may also log your IP address (this is your computer's individual identification number that is assigned to your computer when connected to the Internet).

When you sign up for an account, you provide your name, contact details (including email address) and information about your company. We need this to:
- allow you to produce legally acceptable invoices and accurate accounts using the service,
- maintain our own accounts, and for invoicing,
- enable us to answer your queries,
- verify your identity for security purposes,
- send you our newsletter, if you have asked us to.

We may also use personal information about you to improve our marketing and promotional efforts, to analyze usage, to improve our content and product offerings, and to customize content, layout, and services. These uses improve inqonto and provide the best possible level of customer service.

Cookies

Cookies are small strings of data stored in your device's temporary memory when you navigate around our website. For your login to allow you access to inqonto, we need to store a temporary 'cookie' in your internet browser. This automatically expires after 60 minutes of inactivity, or you can delete it by logging out. You can also choose to store a permanent cookie that allows you to access your account without logging in each time ('Remember me on this computer'). When you explicitly log out, this cookie is removed. These cookies contain no personal information about you, but you shouldn't use 'Remember Username and Password' if you are on a publicly-accessible computing device or terminal.

Data Storage & Security

inqonto uses third party vendors and hosting partners to provide the necessary hardware, software, networking, storage, and related technology required to run inqonto. Our servers are located in Europe. If you sign up for inqonto you are confirming your consent to information, including personal data and content, being hosted and accessed in Europe.

inqonto is committed to protecting the security of your information and takes reasonable precautions to protect it. However, Internet data transmissions, whether wired or wireless, cannot be guaranteed to be 100% secure and as a result we cannot ensure the security of information you transmit to us; accordingly, you acknowledge that you do so at your own risk.

We make all commercially reasonable efforts to ensure security of your information on our systems:
Your inqonto password is protected by encryption and only you have access to it;
Your personal information and data stored in our systems is protected by various physical, electronic and procedural safeguards and is housed in a secure facility.
We do not monitor or view your personal information or content stored, but it may be viewed if we learn that our Terms of Service may have been violated and confirmation is required, or we otherwise determine that we have an obligation to review it.
If we learn of a security system breach we may attempt to notify you and provide information on protective steps, if available, through the e-mail address that you supplied during registration or posting a notice on our web site.

Account Deletion

If you cancel, we maintain your data on our system for a further seven days. After this time your data is irrevocably removed from our database.

Sharing your data with others

We may share the information we hold about you with any person, business or other organisation (and their advisers) who might take over our rights or responsibilities under our agreement with you to allow them to prepare for taking these over (after that, we may also allow that person or business to use and share your information on the same basis as us). We also reserve the right to cooperate with law enforcement officials in the investigation of alleged unlawful activities of our website users or relating to our website users. We will have no legal liability for such disclosures of your information.

Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated in the future and we'll post the new version here on our website.
